Message from Chairman Desk

“The key to success is to focus on goals, not obstacles.”

Research has found that having clarity about your goals is essential to having the motivation to achieve those goals. We are kept from our goal not by obstacles but by a clear path to our desired goal. WIRC understands that to achieve objectives, your path should be clear and to that end, we have been working very hard towards providing clarity to achieve professional goals for members and our students. All our initiatives whether seminars, webinars, joint ventures with educational or government institutions, etc. are all structured towards illuminating the road to professional success.

Skill Enhancement Program for Students

WIRC is working very hard for the welfare of students across the Region. We have joined hands with renowned educational institutions to create skill enhancement programs for students at large. To that end, our three Branches comprising Pune, Nashik and Ahmednagar jointly with the Savitribai Phule Pune University organised multiple virtual skill enhancement program for commerce students in their respective locations which received excellent feedback from all concerned.

Felicitation of Senior Members (We Care Alumni)

On the occasion of celebrating 70 years of WIRC, we are proud to felicitate the senior members of the profession who have completed 70 years of age. These veterans will also be felicitated at the hands of ICAI President CA. Nihar N. Jambusaria and in doing so pay our respect to them. Veterans and stalwarts have grown in the profession and helped grow our institution as well. Thus it behoves us to recognise their dedication by venerating their commitment to the profession and the Institute. We felicitated 800 members who were highly appreciative of this gesture and we look forward to felicitating more such members on a regular basis.

1st Ever WIRC Box Cricket Tournament

‘Healthy Mind in Healthy Body’. Adopting this motto WIRC organised a Region-wide Box Cricket Tournament. The enthusiasm and participation went far beyond our expectations. Members participated and came to Mumbai from as far Ahmednagar, Akola, Dhule, Malegaon, Pune and Satara to name a few. Over 500 CAs and 35 teams participated making this one our largest sports gatherings ever. I am pleased to say that the success of this event led to public demand for another and WIRC is proud to host another all Region Box Cricket Tournament and we look forward to increased participation from members.

1st Ever Direct Tax Residential Refresher Course

I am pleased to state that we organised the first ever Direct Tax RRC. The Ahmedabad Branch of WIRC of ICAI took the onus to organise and execute this event. To ensure maximum knowledge gain for all, contemporary and most relevant topics were selected thus providing attending members insightful knowledge and expertise through professional expertise of the veteran speakers.

Inauguration of New Premises of Gandhidham Branch & Visit to Bhuj Branch

I recently had the good fortune to visit WIRC Branches in Kutch in the presence of our esteemed ICAI President CA. Nihar N. Jambusaria. We were pleased to inaugurate the new premises of our Gandhidham Branch and take this opportunity to congratulate the Office-Bearers, Committee Members, Past Branch Chairmen and the members who have put in tremendous efforts towards the acquisition of the new Gandhidham Branch premises. We also took this opportunity to visit the Bhuj Branch and interacted with Members and Office-Bearers who were extremely pleased to directly connect with ICAI President. I once again laud all our members of Kutch for their enthusiasm and dedication to the profession.

The events of the last month comprising the overwhelming response to the Cricket tournament and my interactions with the ICAI President have encouraged me to ‘Prepare for each moment to be a learning moment.’ I am sure that time spent with family during the Diwali festival must have rejuvenated all members and students. I wish everyone a happy and wonderful new Samvat 2078.
