Message from Chairman Desk

Dear Professional Colleagues,

“Tough Times Never Last But Tough People Do.” – Dr. Robert Schuller

Challenges and difficulties are part of life but your resilience and positive attitude can sail you through turbulent times. It is for this reason that WIRC of ICAI keeps organizing and conducting various events, seminars, workshops and conferences for the professional benefit and interest of its CA members and students. Such programs are meaningful as well as strong support systems to uplift professionals in tough times.

Stay committed to your decisions, but stay flexible in your approach. This is the policy that we BOLDly adopted for 2021-22 and thus we are ending this calendar year with many successes. We promise to continue on this path to better services, commitments and with the promise to achieve new goals together.

At the same time, it is clear that what the New Year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the New Year. In the words of Maya Angelou, “If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude.”

CEO Speak – Journey from Article to CEO

Our initiative of CEO Speak has seen a number of luminaries address the fraternity at large. However, the presence of CA. Sanjiv Mehta, President, Unilever South Asia and Chair and Managing Director, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., was greatly appreciated by members of the Region as whole. During his address, CA. Sanjiv Mehta professed to be a proud CA who stated that to become a CEO you need to fall in love with the business and added that leadership is not about hierarchy but about ownership and accountability. He was bullish about India stating that the effects of the pandemic are just a pause in India's consumption and growth story and that with a growing middle class, one of the youngest populations in the world and rising internet penetration, India is poised for unprecedented growth.

Box Cricket Tournament 2# & Annual Indoor Sports

The tremendous response to the Box Cricket tournament inspires us to launch Box Cricket Tournament 2# for our members. This was received with great enthusiasm and 850 members participated thus ensuring that this event could become a permanent feature of our calendar. Similarly, the WIRC Annual Indoor Sports day saw participation by members of all ages who brought a positive competitive spirit to the proceedings.

The last month saw our Hon. President, ICAI CA Nihar N. Jambusaria continue to travel across the Region and conduct interactive meetings with members. He met with CA members at Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Kolhapur & Ahmednagar Branches of WIRC and inspired them to make progress professionally as well as support the Institute through various activities at Regional and Branch level.

Another year and another set new changes will come but what you won’t have to change is the formula of hard work to get good results and achieve your desired success. In order to be successful in the New Year, stay focused, develop a positive attitude and be passionate with your dreams. Happy New Year!
